This weekend, the 128th Hungarian Championships were held in the new National Athletics Centre as a dress rehearsal for the World Championships. At the event, which was broadcast live on the Hungarian Television website, the Ikarus division once again achieved great success after the Váltó OB, as the statistics show that Ikarus won the most medals, nine in all, in a close race with the FTC!
Viktória Wagner-Gyürkés won two gold medals (1500 m, 5000 m), Fanni Rapai in the 400 m, Csaba Molnár in the 400 m hurdles, László Kovács in the weight throw, Tamás Kéri in the pole vault won silver, while Csaba Horváth in the high jump, Zoltán Polyák in the 110 m hurdles and Noel Kovács in the javelin won bronze. The value of this success is increased by the fact that all but one of the medals were won by our own athletes!
