MEDITOP Pharmaceutical Ltd. is proud to announce that Dr. Pál Fekete, associate professor and director of research and development at the company, has been awarded the Dénes Gábor Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Dénes Gábor Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most prestigious awards in Hungarian innovation, established for professionals who have made a proven contribution to the development of society and the economy through their creative work of outstanding scientific, technical, or economic value and its practical application.
The award recognizes Dr. Pál Fekete’s decades of significant research and development work in pharmaceutical technology and industry. Throughout his career, he has played a significant role in the development of modern pharmaceutical forms, such as extended-release preparations, microencapsulated active ingredients, and transdermal systems, as well as in the development of pharmaceutical forms of new active ingredients suitable for industrial use. He has more than fifty patent applications and over seventy scientific publications to his name.
As Director of Research and Development, he played a key role in the development of numerous MEDITOP pharmaceutical products that have been successfully marketed both domestically and internationally. Of particular significance was the development of a patented pharmaceutical technology for the active ingredient favipiravir, which enabled home treatment in the early stages of infection during the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby helping to relieve the burden on the healthcare system. The industrial and social significance of the development has been recognized with prestigious innovation awards.
In addition to his research and industrial activities, Dr. Pál Fekete has been actively involved in higher education and the training of young professionals for many years. Through his work as a teacher and mentor, he has contributed to the professional development of generations of experts.
