Spaverin

SPAVERIN ANTISPASMODIC TABLETS ARE A DRUG WITH THE ACTIVE INGREDIENT DROTAVERINE HYDROCHLORIDE, WHICH RELIEVES SMOOTH MUSCLE SPASMS OF VARIOUS ORIGINS.

Muscle types in our body.

the voluntary striated skeletal muscles that provide posture and movement (e.g. calves, biceps, hamstrings),
the cardiac muscles, which are also striated, but work independently of our will,
and the smooth muscles that operate our internal organs, also independently of our will.
Muscles are moved by the coordinated action of muscle fibres and the muscle fibres or muscle cells that make them up. In response to stimulation, calcium ions are released from the muscle cells and the muscle contracts. When the stimulus is gone, the calcium ions flow out of the muscle cell and the muscle relaxes.

If the coordinated processes that ensure the normal functioning of the muscle are disrupted, the muscle fibres and filaments contract persistently and strongly and the muscle cramps painfully. Muscle spasm can be a one-off effect – e.g. bile colic – or it can be an indication of an organ disease. Excruciating, spasmodic pain can therefore result from abnormally strong and prolonged contraction of the smooth muscles that form the walls of the hollow organs.
